Aakhir Tak – In Depth
In recent weeks, bomb threat calls have surged across airlines and establishments nationwide. On Tuesday, 32 Air India flights faced fresh bomb threats, adding to growing security concerns. This incident followed fake threat messages received by seven Kolkata-bound flights just a day earlier.
In response to these threats, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) has heightened its security measures. In just the past two weeks, over 400 hoax calls have been reported. The NIA’s cyber wing is now investigating these foreign threat calls, focusing on analyzing their motives and authenticity.
The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has issued an advisory for social media platforms to comply with IT rules and the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. Platforms have been instructed to remove posts related to bomb threats promptly, or else face potential accountability.
